Progress Report 2 - CanSat competition

 Cansat progress post

by the Canservationists

This is a follow-up of our previous blog-post here regarding our progress on CanSat competition.

The truth is that During quarantine making progress with the CanSat was very difficult; however, we are back at school now, and bringing the whole project together has become significantly easier.

Since last time, we finalised the design of the can and we have printed it out using a 3D-printer.The integrated parts (Arduino Uno and the various sensors) can perfectly fit inside the can, including the battery (photo). Then, we weighted the can (including the various parts) and added the required ballast so as to reach the mass as per the rules of the competition (more than 300g gr and less than 350 gr).

Now, the only thing left is to choose a proper yagi-antenna for the ground station, and perform the final tests.

Finally,we have been preparing our portfolio for the deadline date of Wednesday the 31st of March; this would show our step-by-step progress with the CanSat project and research that we have conducted.

PS: All the members of the canservationist team received gifts from the nemo science museum. These gifts consisted of socks, flags CanSat posters, and key finders. These are very nice accessories that we can use to show our participation in the CanSat competition.
